OB Streem supports the Economics Olympiad: empowering the next generation of leaders
At OB Streem, we are proud to be an active supporter of the Economics Olympiad, an international competition that promotes financial literacy and economic knowledge among students. As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, we are committed to supporting educational initiatives that empower the younger generation. The 2024 Economics Olympiad, which recently concluded in Ancient Olympia, is an excellent example of this commitment in action.
This year, we gave the Greek team the opportunity to be well prepared for the international finals, enabling the five Greek finalists to attend a four-day intensive economics camp at Ella's Mon Repos Palace Hotel in Corfu, where they honed their skills under the guidance of top professors. This preparatory camp combined learning with relaxation and set the stage for their impressive performances at the final in Ancient Olympia.
We are delighted that the Greek team not only came second overall, but also brought home numerous individual awards. Our special congratulations go to Christos Loukas, who came 3rd, and to all the Greek participants for their remarkable achievements.
This year's Olympiad saw a 232% increase in participation, with 3,672 students from 208 schools competing, compared to just 1,105 students from 135 schools in 2021. The growing popularity of this institution is a testament to its relevance and impact. Through our continued support, we aim to strengthen this initiative and continue to empower young minds through economic education.
