From Russia (via Greece) With Love: OB Streem Brings the Costakis Collection to Spain

At the beginning of the summer, the collection had to be transferred to Spain as part of a Greek-Spanish cultural collaboration between MOMus and Málaga’s Cultural Organization. In exchange, works from Málaga’s Museo Casa Natal Picasso were to be sent to Greece.

That's where we came in. The Fine Arts Division of Orphee Beinoglou, member of OB Streem, trained to handle such invaluable works of art and to move them safely and quickly from point A to point B, went to work.

A total of 435 works from the Costakis Collection were meticulously packed and transported to the Russian Museum in Málaga, including Solomon Nikritin's "Drinking Woman." The exhibition, titled Utopia and the Avant-Garde, runs from 04.07.2024 to 31.03.2025.

In return, 96 works by Pablo Picasso were moved to the MOMus Museum of Modern Art in Thessaloniki. The exhibition Pablo Picasso: Exile and Nostalgia, showcasing drawings, prints and ceramics—many displayed outside Spain for the first time—runs from 12.07.2024 to 10.11.2024.

With this successful transport, the two cities are united through art, offering the public a chance to explore the rich cultural heritage of two remarkable artistic worlds.
